STUDENT HOUSING!  

When Thrive secured its new location in Grove Park this past July, we became aware that there was a drug house across the street from us.  
After prayer, a week later they moved out!  We had been looking for a house for our student housing and after some work to find out the info of the property owner we got the former drug house!  
I believe this is incredibly symbolic of what God is doing through Thrive Academy.  God is using this school to build the kingdom of God and to drive out the kingdom of darkness.  His light is shining brightly now in this student house and we are excited for all that God is doing!
The above picture was taken on a Saturday night.  Some of the students in the picture have siblings in jail because of criminal activity.  With this school and house God is making a way for these kids lives to turn out differently than their siblings.  

OUR FOCUS ON READING 

The literacy rates in the inner city are frightening! With specialized training, we lead all our students into proficiency in reading and reading comprehension.  Most recently we read as a school the classic “ A Day No Pigs Would Die” by Robert Peck 

WILDERNESS EXPLORATION CLASS

We believe engagement with the outdoors, with God’s creation is invaluable for the development of youth.  We have a class that takes us outdoors once a week to develop a familiarity with and love for the great outdoors.  We have seen life and joy come back to kids depressed and traumatized by some of the cruelties of life and poverty.
